    Key program: Shoreline Cleanup

The ocean benefits all living things, but it is still harmed by pollution. When the ocean falls ill, our shoreline reflects its symptoms. Every year, over 8 million tonnes of plastic are dumped into the ocean. Many of them ended up on our shorelines, in wildlife and us -- A study estimates that 90% of seabirds have plastic trash in their bodies. Plastics and chemicals attached may also lead to diseases in us.Shoreline cleanup is the first step we all can take to counter marine pollution.
